New DIY project - Photo Display

This was one of the easiest and cheapest projects. I always wondered how I would display those photo booth slips you get at parties, weddings and bars! I purchased these display frames at the 99 cent store, they were originally recommended to display your child's school pics up till high school. I simply turned over the paper, used a glue stick and stuck the photos on in a fun way! Took me 10 minutes to do all 4!

Hot Chocolate Gift Sets

I tried my hand at a DIY I found and can safely say: Pinterest project gone right! :) These are some simple gifts for some girl friends for Christmas but can easily be updated for any holiday (although best for the winter ones)

Easy to make with the following ingredients.

Candy bags (can be found at Michael's in all sizes, these are the rectangular medium size)
Hot Chocolate (I used a generic store brand in a canister for easy scooping. Opening a bunch of packets would be tedious)
Sprinkles (for Christmas I found candy cane and wreath sprinkles, but choose what works for the holiday you are gifting for!)
Chocolate Chips (the kind you can eat, not bakers chips)
Marshmallows (Originally was going to use the tiny ones but the mini ones are better)

Some advice: The items can easily mix together if you aren't careful but I found if you squeeze the bottom after you add the Hot Chocolate and hold it while you fill each level, it actually separates each level well. Only fill with all ingredients about half way so you can easily tie the top and still have a little "poof" of plastic at the top.

I decorated with a ribbon in green for Christmas but again choose a color that goes with the holiday or event you are gifting for.

Gift for a Guy

Sometimes it can be so difficult to shop for a guy. It doesn't matter how good of friends, or how well you know them you just never know what they are going to like. With my group of friends you can't go wrong with an alcoholic beverage so I created these little gift sets for a friend's recent birthday. SO simple and easy to do and gives them a ready made drink.

Put a small amount of tissue paper in the bottom of the pail to steady the bottles and voila, you have a simple gift now ready for giving.

Recommendations:
If you can find them, reusable ice cubes would make a cute, fun and great addition as a filler instead of tissue paper.
Including a fun rocks style glass is an added bonus for the birthday boy!

  • Small liquor bottles are sold at most liquor stores.
  • The Coca Cola cans are from the "mini" 6 packs you can now purchase at most chain grocery stores.
  • The small black pails were purchased at Michael's.

I've always enjoyed being creative and working on different craft projects but life got the better of me and I put it on the back burner. I have started little craft projects lately and also getting more into Pinterest so this is my blog about the projects I complete! Enjoy!

My newest project involved making Christmas presents for various friends. I decorated mason jars and filled them with homemade sugar scrub.
